Lumiere

Wow, what a busy summer I don’t really know where to begin there is so much to tell you... So much in fact that we have resorted to writing a blog to keep everyone up to date with all of our antics, new products, great suppliers and we have even managed to persuade Jon is share some of his secrets.

So here goes..

We have had some great write ups in this years The Good Food, The AA & Michelin Guides and are looking forward to see where we place in this years The Sunday Times Top 100 Restaurant List coming out at the end of the month too. We also won Cotswold Life’s Restaurant of the Year 2013 back in July, it was a wonderful evening, as always, and we managed to escape with out any broken bones this year too.

Autumn has arrived and the game season is in full swing, we have lots of wonderful produce coming in from the Badminton Estate; Pigeon and Partridge along with some fabulous Venison too. Fish supplies are also plentiful with catches of Wild Sea Bass, line caught Cornish Pollack and Haddock, which Jon is poaching in a wonderful Curry butter - definitely a dish not to miss!

Dominic has been shortlisted for South West Young Chef of the Year. The semi finals take place in Exeter on Saturday this week, watch this space and we’ll let you know how he gets on. We have also welcomed Hannah Sparks as trainee assistant manager to our Front of House Team. Hannah, originally from Kidderminster, comes to us from Tanners Restaurant in Plymouth with lots of enthusiasm and a real passion for what we are doing.

We have a new addition to the Bar list as well, a great new House Vodka - The Black Cow made in Dorset from Cow’s Milk. Yes vodka made from milk, I kid you not!

I know its only October but I have to mention the "C’ Word, we will be closed over the Christmas and New Year period this year for our winter holiday. Dates are now available on the website and please remember if you are stuck for a present then we do offer Gift Vouchers as well.

If you have a spare minute, Food Magazine have opened their voting for The Food Magazine Food Awards 2013 and we would love your vote. The Food Magazine Awards cover the whole of the South West of England so the competition is really tough, but it is also a fantastic opportunity for our very hard working team to get some of the recognition which they deserve. So we need your votes! 

Just to finish off on a personal note Jon and I finally got married at the end of May. It was a fabulous day and for those of you who have asked I have put a couple of pictures up on the Blog too.
